Oceania Begins Marina Construction

Oceania Cruises has begun construction on new cruise ship Marina. Marina will be the first ship of the new Oceania-Class.

A ceremony was held to mark the commencement of the construction of Marina.

“Marina will not be just a ship, she will be a place of beauty that offers our guests unparalleled comfort, amenities and a culinary experience that is beyond compare. Marina, along with her sister-ship, will be the most beautiful ships to sail the seven seas,” added Del Rio.

The Oceania-Class will be a new class of mid sized cruise vessels providing guests with comfort, convenience and a variety of luxury amenities. The new cruise ships within this class will accommodate 1,252 guests in 626 staterooms and suites. There will be more than 780 staff members onboard to look after the guests.

Marina will make her debut in September 2010.

Oceania Cruise?s New Cruise Ship Named Marina

Oceania Cruises has announced that it will name its new purpose-built cruise ship Marina. The cruise ship will be significantly larger than the rest of the cruise ships in its class measuring 65,000 tons with a passenger capacity of 1,260.

Open-seating dining will be offered in the restaurants onboard Marina meaning a more relaxed and informal approach to dining. Marina will also offer a variety of staterooms which will include 11 suites with their own outdoor whirlpools.

The first sailing for Marina is planned for autumn 2010 with a sister ship also planned to join her in July 2011.
