Oceania Cruises

United States-based Oceania Cruises were founded in 2002 and operate three luxury cruise ships, Regatta, Insignia and Nautica. A further two ships, currently being built by Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, will be pressed into service in September 2010 and July 2011. The first of the new ships, which will carry 1,260 passengers, will be called Marina, while the second is as yet unnamed. The contract between current owners Apollo Management and Fincantieri includes an option for a similar type ship that could be delivered as early as May 2012. Oceania has been owned by Apollo Management since 2007.

Oceania is currently the world’s largest luxury cruise line offering style, elegance, wonderful dining and itineraries that are known to be very competitively priced compared to its luxury style competitors. The current three mid-size ships have 400 staff that cater for the requirements of just 684 passengers on each vessel. The surroundings combined with the highly personalised service produces and intimate atmosphere, which although casual, is also elegant and sophisticated.

Oceania ships sail to numerous and diverse destinations that include: Africa; Arabia; Black Sea; Caribbean; Central America; China, Greek Islands; Iceland; India; Mediterranean; Mexico; Russia; Scandinavia; South America and Southeast Asia.

The suites are luxurious and spacious, the largest ones measuring almost 1,000 square feet. Each of the cabins has large glass doors, a veranda, a 42” plasma flat-screen TV with a state of the art surround sound system, a second flat-screen TV to watch from the comfort of your bed, a Jacuzzi, an entertainment centre for CDs and DVDs plus many more quality features that would not look out of place in a five-star hotel.

If style, luxury and an intimate atmosphere is your idea of good cruising then Oceania may be ideal for you.
